I kind of knew all along that was what I would go with, but getting rid of the adorable and homey vibe from number 1 was def hard! ahhh I have my own apartment!!! Michael, I did a bunch of online searching which was a bust, and I looked at 5 places yesterday with a realtor. 1 was nice but the lease start was a month after I needed it to be (but dang that kitchen is hard to forget!), 2 were omg gross nasty yuck, you couldn't pay me to step in the shower or sit on the toilet, even if you told me you would cover my rent for the rest of my life, and the last 2 were these. From what I gathered online, there isn't a whole bunch of places near to my work, and I would kind of like to be somewhat close, since my last job was a half hour drive. Also, the pool, gym, and newly renovated are hard to turn down. While I would have maybe liked to look a bit more, the chance of loosing this apartment is pretty big. It is the only one in the complex being 100% renovated, so I think it would go fast if I waited to long. and the newly renovated was a huge pro in my opinion! alright, just filled out the application from #2! Being an inner-city guy (Chicago born and raised) for 29 of my 34 years I now fully understand the benefits of knowing your neighbors as well as simply being comfortable in your area. Living in an apartment I know the pain of having the laundry in the basement. I put off laundry as long as I can sometimes just so I don't have to deal with it. The ideals are hard to turn down - but I think the practical side of laundry and AC and counter space totally out-weigh the walking to work/adorable exterior/happy landlord. Unfortunately, practical seems like the best option I think - but I do totally love the fireplace yay! I am so happy for you!
